AVANCED EARNED VALUE MANAGEMENT
This workshop describes the characteristics of a truly effective earned value management system (EVMS) and how to achieve them with your own EVMS. It describes operational techniques for monitoring and tracking project performance. The workshop review methods for calculating and verifying the estimate at completion. It shows how past patterns and trends can be used as good predictors of the future. It provides a means for answering management questions like the following. How efficiently are we using our time? When is the project likely to be completed? Are we under or over our budget? How efficiently are we using our resources? What is the remaining work likely to cost? What is the entire project likely to cost? How much will we be under or over budget? How efficiently will we have to perform to achieve the current management estimate at completion? The workshop reviews the DCMA's Tripwires and explains how these are applied. The workshop also addresses decisions regarding establishing management reserve and assessing the rate of application of MR.

Better understand how to integrate EVM metrics with the schedule by correlating schedule variances with contributing activities and also by converting EVM schedule variances from hours/dollars to time. The DCMA's 14 Schedule Assessment points are reviewed and explained. The value of and a process for a schedule risk assessment are provided. The course also provides insight into formal studies that have been made regarding management reserve and cost performance indices.

Better understand the concepts associated with baseline maintenance including over target baselines (OTB).

Enhancing understanding of how to plan and conduct meaningful system surveillance.
